The Truth about Naming a Baby

WARNING: This isn't so much a feminist topic as it is a parenting one.

I think a fun part about getting pregnant (I am not yet, but still working on that) is that you get to pick a name for the child-to-be.

Note: This might explain why so many unplanned pregnancies result in children with either lame, traditional names or alternatively names like the ones given to the children of celebrities.

Christina Aguilera / Jordan Bratman Singer = Max Liron (son)
Erykah Badu / Andre Benjamin = Seven Sirius (son)
Erykah Badu / Tracy Curry = Puma (daughter)
David Bowie / Angela Bowie = Duncan Zowie Heywood Jones (son)
Toni Braxton / Keri Lewis = Denim Cole (son) and Diezel Ky (son)
Christie Brinkley / Peter Cook = Sailor Lee (daughter)
Nicholas Cage / Alice Kim = Kal-el (son)
Cher / Sonny Bono = Chastity (daughter)
Cher / Greg Allman = Elijah Blue (son)
Tom Cruise / Katie Holmes = Suri (daughter)
Courteney Cox Arquette / David Arquette = Coco Riley (daughter)
Bob Geldof / Paula Yates = Fifi Trixibelle (daughter), Peaches Honeyblossom (daughter) and Little Pixie (daughter)

For me I want a name that is both strong and beautiful. And possibly gender neutral. I am open to unusual names, but nothing ridiculous like "Fifi Trixibelle" (which sounds like a name for a chihuahua).

I am even open to male names which could become gender neutral. ie. Andy Sam MacNevin. People would assume its Andrea Samantha. However I think that name is too plain so I want something with more spunky.

(I should note because I am thinking of having a natural pregnancy I won't know if its a boy or a girl. Thus its important that whatever I name the kid it should be suitable regardless of what sex they are born.)

For example what about Triangle (or Tri for short)? I admit its unusual, but I am attracted to the simplicity of it. Plus for fun the kid could sign their name in the shape of a triangle. :o
